  • Supporting Financial Literacy 50% of Russian adults have insufficient financial knowledge and only two per cent trust private banks. Our cross-sector partnership with the Citi Foundation promotes financial literacy in Russia which has reached more than 15,000 people in its first two months alone.

  • Fighting malnutrition Building on a long-standing relationship with GAIN, a leading NGO that aims to reduce malnutrition, we collaborated to create the GAIN Business Award for Innovation in Nutrition to recognize companies working to fight malnutrition.

  • Addressing youth unemployment The German Development Agency and the Marriott Foundation are among our development partners supporting our Youth Career Initiative. This scheme provides vocational and life skills to disadvantaged 18-21-year-olds in 11 countries around the world, helping them to break the cycle of poverty and provide opportunities to find jobs or return to education.

  • Supporting small businesses in fragile economies The Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), one of the agencies within the Aga Khan Development Network, is working with IBLF to harness the power of local businesses operating in fragile economies - by encouraging them to adopt ‘responsible’ practices - to change the lives of workers, their families and communities for the better.

    We are working with the German Sustainable Development Agency (GTZ) and four international companies to explore how best to help governments in Africa to partner more effectively with business to achieve development goals.
